💙 Our #WCCUCares Employee Spotlight Series starts today! The series will highlight our employees and how they embody our WCCU Cares mission outside of work. 💙 We start the series with Scott Francis, our Coventry Financial Services Manager who volunteers his time with MENTOR Rhode Island. When do you volunteer? "I go to Winman Middle School in Warwick every Tuesday morning from 7:30-8:30 to mentor Elijah. It is an hour commitment per week, during the school year. I go on Tuesdays, however, Mentor RI has a multitude of mentoring programs on different days and times to best fit your schedule." What kinds of activities do you do with Elijah? "We play various board games or card games and have conversations around hobbies/interests, clubs, or sports teams he's part of, school, family, and general conversations about life." Why did you choose Mentor RI? "I joined Mentor RI because I was fortunate to grow up in a tight knit family with both parents and 2 brothers and I know what a positive impact that has made on my life. I want to be a positive influence on a younger generation who may not be growing up in those same circumstances." 🙂 Mentor Rhode Island's mission is to ensure youth have access to the motivational and supportive relationships they need to grow into confident, successful adults.
