The Business Development Division, will, as a general rule, process applications for Business Registrations and Licenses issued by the State of Rhode Island’s Office of the Secretary of State.
The recommended procedure for submitting a Business License Application to the State of Rhode Island is by means of a Master Application. This new ‘Business Fast Start’ service, available through the Office of the Secretary of State, is a collaboration amongst state agencies to provide a convenient, accessible, and timely one-stop system that will enable business owners to complete and submit business license applications through an online Master Application. The Master Application is an optional service. Business owners can contact the Office of Secretary of State’s Corporations Division, the Division of Taxation and the Department of Health and other agencies directly if they choose.
