Promotional Services

In an effort to assist our members with the promotion of their own professional programs, seminars and presentations on business education and related topics, the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce will assist in providing the following promotional services for a fee of $250.00. This service will be available only to members of the South Kingstown Chamber. It is expected that such events will be of particular interest and benefit to other Chamber members and will increase the variety, quality and number of business educational programs available.

The South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce will:

Provide an Event Planning Checklist for planning a business education program.
Provide a Referral List to South Kingstown Chamber members who can provide the appropriate meeting space, catering, printing, event planners, photographers, etc.
Post a promotional notice of the scheduled event on the Chamber’s website (Calendar of Events - “Business Education”), with a link back to the presenter’s own website or email address.
Create and distribute Press Release #1 to state and local media (8 weeks in advance).
Create and distribute Press Release #2 to local media (4 weeks in advance).
Maintain information about the scheduled event at the SK Chamber office to answer any questions that may be received prior to the program and refer inquiries back to the presenter’s individual phone number, email address, or website.
List program event on the Business Calendar of the Chamber’s “Business Matters” page in the Narragansett Times.
List program event in SK Chamber’s monthly newsletter.
FREE insert in SK Chamber’s monthly newsletter. Copies of 900 inserts must be provided by the presenting member and must meet the insert deadline and other criteria.
FREE complete set membership mailing labels for one-time mailing use only, if desired.
Create and distribute notices of the scheduled program to SK Chamber Board, Chamber members, and interested others with two targeted email broadcasts.
Create and print follow-up “Member News” article in SK Chamber’s monthly newsletter, if appropriate. Note: The value for these services is estimated to be over $500.00. The first three items, in bold type, will be provided at no-charge as a regular benefit of Chamber membership even if the complete promotional service not be utilized.

The Business Member will: Be a member, in good standing, of the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce to receive these services.

Complete a Promotions Request Form and submit it to the SK Chamber office with a payment of $250.00. Ideally, this request should be made 9-10 weeks prior to the proposed event to allow for maximum promotion and the full range of services offered.
Provide the SK Chamber with all relevant information, graphics, photos, and text in a timely manner to allow for complete and adequate promotion of the scheduled event.
Provide 900 copies of the newsletter insert, if this option is chosen; these inserts will be provided at the presenter’s expense and by the required deadline.
Prepare any mailing piece to be used with the Chamber mailing labels provided, if this option is chosen; the expense for printing, labeling, postage and delivery to the post office will be the responsibility of the presenter.
Make whatever arrangements are desired and necessary for space, food service, and/or other services required for the scheduled event directly with the appropriate vendor(s) and cover all such expenses as appropriate.
Prepare, and be responsible for, all materials to be distributed to participants before, during and after the event.
Maintain all registrations and payments received in advance of the event, as well as the sign-in table and payments received at-the-door at the time of the scheduled program.
Follow-up with any vendors and/or participants following the program as may be necessary.

The South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to decline the request for promotion of any program, seminar or other event it does not feel is appropriate from promotion by the Chamber. Such instances will be fully discussed with the member submitting the request.

This promotional service offered by the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce is still in the design and implementation phase and as such, is subject to change as improvements and modifications are made.
